I have a late series 3 that would slip under heavy loads in road gear in hi range but otherwise would pull fine. I was using the tractor on a 20 foot disk until I plugged the disk I stopped and had the tractor running at a high idle while I was unplugging the disk the hydraulic pump locked up and broke the cam. The pump is plugged with what I am 99 percent sure is what's left of a high range disc. The tractor has about 8000 hours and I believe that PD could be original. I am going to split it and rebuild the PD and have the hydraulic pump looked at by a hydraulic shop. Is there any updates the could or should be done at this time? Thanks

Replace all driving discs (70261212) with those from a maroon 7000 tractor. They will never break. Fix your linkage to the valve to make sure you're getting full 100% stroke when in high side.

My intermediate shaft gears exploded, sent metal all through the pump. Winter project is replace all the broken parts, rebuild the pump and power director clutches. The screen in the bottom of my sump was put in crooked and was not covering the opening completely. This allowed metal to go into my pump. Keep us updated, John
