I have an Allis Chalmers Model 78 2 row planter. It doesn’t have any fertilizer hoppers on it and I’m trying to find some to put on it. So far I can’t find any info on the setup, assembly, or parts regarding the fertilizer hoppers, anyone have any ideas or help to point me in the right path?

Model 78 is the row unit itself, which should be units that require air/fan to make them work. Any AC 2-row planter I've ever seen was mounted on the rear of a tractor.

Yes it does have the air unit on it, so do I need to be looking on the frame to see what fertilizer hoppers I need to try to find? Or is there a generic frame hopper I need to be looking for?

Where on the planter are you thinking this box would mount? In most cases the fertilizer box would mount in front of the row units and cover 2 rows. Insecticide and herbicide boxes mount on the back of the row unit. I know it isn’t right but I top dress urea with the insecticide box on mine.

I am thinking they would go behind the row units because of the bolt holes above the big wheel in the back of the unit frame but I’m not really sure. Like you said maybe the insecticide boxes go in the bolt holes I was thinking was for the fertilizer hoppers. Any info you have on the front fertilizer box or the planter in general would be greatly appreciated
