What is the best way to separate the U joint from the upper steering shaft.  I am assuming it is a solid pin that is pressed in.  Am I correct?  You can also tell that the steering shaft has slid down a lot.  I think the snap ring groove has worn out so the snap ring no longer stays in place.  Any way to fix it aside from getting a better shaft?

Also, can someone provide the part numbers for the D15 Diesel power steering lines?  The AGCO parts book website shows the early D17 gas lines for some reason.

Grind off the pin on one side so it will drive out using the proper sized punch and a 3 lb hammer while someone else holds the steering wheel from turning. Turn the steering wheel hard until the Ujoint lets it spin free while pulling up on it. Find a stack of machine washers to create the distance you want and place them inside the bottom of the steering wheel. Grease/oil the shaft while reinstalling. Use a 3/8" bolt and lock nut to replace the Ujoints pin of the exact length. You are fixed. You want a new shaft and snap ring?? This is a better permanent fix.
