Just removed fluid from my 45 and had new tubes installed. Tired of fighting bad valve stems. Wondering what factory 45 wheel weights weigh each.

135 pounds each. Not anywhere near what the fluid provides. I have both the fluid and wheel weights on my '45

if you put 4 ac wheel weights on each side it may not be as much as the fluid' but you have the right point' the weights won't rot the rims out anymore sr..

Four weights on each rear wheel should bring it back to where full fluid would have been. A new tube should last 15 or 20 years I would think. Using RV antifreeze and one wheel weight would get you back to original full fluid as the RV juice is lighter per gallon.

Well, you get a lot more from the fluid than just the weights. If you take care of them properly, the tire, tubes and wheels will last a long time. On my '45, which my Grandpa first bought new, I'm still on the original wheels with fluid in them. When/if they start to leak (usually around the valve stem) fix it and you'll be ok. Dave

The weights for the late B look just like the weights for the WD, except they are one inch larger, and have little notches in the corners of the half moon cutouts on the outside edge. These are slightly heavier, and would weigh about 140-150.

Replace the valve cores every other year with CaCl and you won't have problems either...just another maintenance item like changing oil. Mike

Yeah, I've had to replace valve cores on some of mine when I notice a leak. Not a big deal to do.

I have 3 weights stacked out on each side of my WD45. It's just barely enough weight. If I throw a dual on the land side for plowing it makes a HUGE difference and I have to weight issues. I think the heavy tire helps more the traction of the tire. 3 weights stack out pretty far. 4 would stick out really far. I can barely get the duals on with 3 weights. I don't think I could with 4.

Since I'm putting new tires on my CA I thought I might have that put in it.

I actually just checked about rimguard a couple weeks ago. From the local dealers here it's $3 a gallon or they sell good old calcium for $1 a gallon
