I got a replacement engine for my tractor that blew in the parade.  I'm having a tough time getting a hold of an engine kit in a hurry.  I want to get this tractor running again for our tractor club plow day on Aug 11.  The engine I got has some rusty valves, pretty bad rusting/pitting on two of the liners and a third liner has one big nasty scratch down the spark plug side from the top to the bottom.  It may run like that but I'd rather not risk it.

Is a D17 kit close enough to use on a WD45?  What, if anything is different about them?
What about the combine engines?  Is that the same kit as a WD45?

Thanks in advance!

A D17 piston&sleeve kit will fit in a WD45 block and give it more compression and HP. A complete overhaul kit doesn't have the correct main bearings for a WD45.....most everything else is the same but the main brgs and front and rear seal.

Is there an automotive engine that carries the same bearing journals so he could run to NAPA and make it work.

Specifically for a WD45 gas engine, not any car engine, Yes.
