The stringers are 4x8 oak that i cut down and had milled on the property.

I 'm building a wood fired sauna on it. I saw one last year and it
made a lot of sense.
If you build a sauna at your house it doesn't help the
value. Except maybe to a few crack pot sauna people. So I can take it with me.
Also, not being a permanent structure exempts it from zoning regulations.
Regarding the point about not bolting one of the ends, wouldn't you want it
as tight as possible? Are hay wagons typically rigged that way?
Looking at this site makes me want a tractor.
