i am having problems with my early allis Chalmers wd. i think it is the governor. i have to start it by putting my hand on the carb for the air intake. i got the tractor as a bucket of parts sitting outside and ive gotten it this far so i am making progress on it. i got another radiator from another tractor and it is a pressurized one and it will over heat if i have the cap on sometimes should it be a non pressurized radiator?

Make sure your choke is closing all the way.

Make absolutely sure the choke plate is all there. Sometimes the spring loaded flapper valve is g-o-n-e.

Set the picture height to 480 and width to 640 when uploading and then they won't be bigger than the screen when the text is a readable size.

I'd run a compression test, you might have a blown head gasket.
3 WD45's with power steering,G,D15 fork lift,D19, W-Speed Patrol, "A" Gleaner with a 330 corn head,"66" combine,roto-baler, and lots of Snap Coupler implements to make them work for their keep.

you should be fine with either a pressurized or non-pressurized radiator. That shouldn't make I overheat. You've been given good advice by great mechanics. Check what they suggested then post back what you find.

Could you have your choke rod connected backwards?

We accidentally had the bracket the connected the choke rod to the choke plate flipped 180 degrees. Drove me nuts for a while. I couldn't understand why the tractor would only start with no choke and would require choke to run.
