Is that a JD 802 All Steel gear with cut down wheels?

Not the same but looks kinda simalar to my Farmhand F19 loader. You did good! If there is no powersteering, it will turn hard with a loader. My WD turns hard with the farmhand loader on it.

Yeah, it'll turn hard with a loader, but shouldn't be too bad with nothing in the bucket. Suggestions for you...

1) Put the bucket down, use it to lift the frontend off the ground, then turn the wheel... see if there's any binding or slop. If so, block up the frame (so it doesn't leak down on you) and investigate.

2) Look into that lug-nut situation... looks like only 3 bolts on there, and with a loader, you're gonna want all 5...

You could convert it to power steering, either by using one of the aftermarket hydraulic kits, or by liberating a hydraulic steering valve and cylinder from a combine, and plumbing it into your live hydraulic pump up front... it is DEFINITELY a worthy upgrade...
Ten Amendments, Ten Commandments, and one Golden Rule solve most every problem. Citrus hand-cleaner with Pumice does the rest.

You did really good ---- D14 with AC Series 400 loader -- front mount hydraulic pump.
Yes - steers hard - no power steering - but if you are moving a little and use brakes to help turn it's not so bad. (but hard enough that my wife won't drive this one -- LOL.)

If you paid $1100 for the tractor AND loader - as pictured - you got a steal.

I just finished installing a nicely restored Model 415 loader on my D-15 Ser. II.

For a D-14 the Model is 414  and the number  414  Decal would be on upright left and right pedastals a couple inches above the Lower Pin for the Lift Cylinders.

The name ALLIS CHALMERS  ( black letter on solid white background ) on left and right boom,
centred between the boom pivot pin and the welded-on cylinder connection plate.

I would strongly recommend finding OR fabricating a Pump Guard for the front mounted pump.   Perhaps even just the standard Grill Guard.
Factory Pump Guard and Grill Guard can both be installed together on the same tractor.

Power Steering is a definite asset because that Bucket can carry a lot of weight.

Make sure all the hoses are in good shape, that pump can put out 3500 to 3700 psi.
