The governor and housing seem to be differant. There are several differant part numbers.  Springs, thrust bearings, and governor shafts are differant. Looks more involved than first thought. Any help appreciated on swap. Thanks Tracy Martin

There was a Gleaner E combine governor on a WD45 engine I bought for my WD project... the governor is totally different from that which came off of my WD.  I suspect that the governor is different, because the operational uses of the combine, being a specific-function machine, has different throttle management requirements than a tractor.

I guess I don't understand what the problem is here. All governor parts between a 170/175  gas engine will interchange with an "E" Gleaner engine. The engine block is essentially the same as is the timing cover. Transfer over all tractor engine parts to the combine engine and be sure to adjust gear backlash. Use tractor throttle lever and bushing etc and install into timing cover or just swap timing covers.

Dr. Allis is right on. Replaced Motor in a D17 and thats exactly what we had to do to the Gleaner Governor. Works perfect.
