Topic: Spring loaded Drawbar on WDPosted: 19 Apr 2011 at 5:29pm |

I recently picked up a couple of tractors for parts (a WD & a WD45), anyway, the WD has a spring loaded drawbar (looks like a big coil). It appears to be factory, but I have NEVER seen one. Are these a rare factory option? Any info would be appreciated! Thanks!

Here's a shot of one but it's not a good shot. I don't think they were to common.

The spring was used with the mounted plows on these tractors. I have seen it in a old parts book . |

Yup, we had one on one of our old WD's. I'm not sure how rare they were.

I have never seen one on the tractor, but I have seen them on the pull plows. Thanks for posting.

I think it was an option for the very early plows; prior to either the "pin hitch" or the "snap-coupler" set-up. |

I have one now although I gave the rare plow to my neighbor! They were a replacement option to the bolt connection prior to the snap coupler coming out.

Do you know if that tractor ever had a mounted corn harvester on it? Looks like a mount for one forward of where the belt pulley would go.

Ken(MI),
Could you post a picture of yours with the pin hitch; it would have to be somewhat
different than the one CD showed.
