 Topic: AC 175 hyd fluid leak?

I noticed my 175 is very jumpy using hydraulics, lift, loader . It is a little low i checked , but here is the question. Setting on tractor, top of the lift resevoir there is an elbow. When I use the loader or lift it wants to puke a little out and runs downs housing. What is likely cause. What type of hyd fluid -trans are you using. Hasn't been changed lately. Does Oreillys stuff pass the test? Also with a FEL, how much more fluid do you top off with? Thanks, Tracy

What is your chassis s/n ??? because yours may be the later model version and that is the breather for the hydraulic system. Like directly under the battery area ??

Dr Allis, it is directly under battery placement. I can't remember the serial number, but is a late model with wishbone frontend. It does have the little tube underneath that ies the two compartments together. Thanks, Tracy

That's late model and that is the breather. Your hyd dipstick is sealed and NOT the breather on yours.

Dr Allis, understood on that, filler has no vent hole. What would make it puke hyd fluid out the breather, and it a little low at that? Thanks, Tracy

Let it sit overnite on the level and stabilize oil level and maybe settle down air in the oil. Fill up to the proper level tomorrow. Use the tractor again until it acts up and report what you've learned. Is the transmission OVERFULL?? If not, missing oil went somewhere. Your oil vomiting out the breather could be from air in the system ?? bad loader ram seals allowing air to enter ?? or may a hyd pump that needs resealing. I've never dealt with one of these later model versions, so I'm not really sure with not really much to go on.

What type of hyd fluid -trans are you using?. I always use the agco 821.
Also with a FEL, how much more fluid do you top off with? Just go with what the dipstick shows. I usually try to keep it as close to full as possible with an FEL and haven't had any issues.
It does sound like there is air in the lines.

Dr Allis,Tractor was just shy of a gallon of fluid. Changed hyd. filter also today. The hyd system seems to have air. It is jerky using the loader and 3 point. Tractor has 519 hours on it. Tranny is not over filled, but hyd puked out oil again. It looks like the oil has air in it. Lift and loder will stay where you put them, don't leak down for days. Thanks, Tracy

I'd be looking for a suction supply hose or clamp allowing air entrance. I suppose the hyd pump shaft seal could also allow air entrance. The power steering is OK fine?? The lift system pump may have blown internal seals?? and the power steering pump doesn't... Only 519 hours ?? I could see a lift pump problem maybe causing air entrance into the oil, especially if the power steering stays good all the time. Now, the whole story: did you just install this loader on this tractor and the tractor never had hydraulic issues before ??? and now it does ???
