Just curious, was thinking of changing the final drives on my 185 LLSS build to the faster D17/170/175 final drives.  I understand that they are not as wide.  Would they be strong enough, is my question?  Thoughts for a snowy, wintery day like today....lol.

70251775 is the same on 180/185/175  70237058 is the other pinion D17/170
 and 70247872 / 70237059  are the bull gears for 185 / D17
When told "it's not the money,it's the principle", remember, it's always the money..

175-180-185 final drives are identical and are the widest/strongest final drives at 5.85 to 1 ratio. D-17 S3 and S4 and 170's are all the same strength/width and 5.43 to 1 ratio, for a 7% speed-up. Change the whole axle/final drive assembly !! How much HP they will take ???  I know of one tractor that has run one season at probably 350-400 HP without issues. Keeping under 7,000 lbs will help. The lighter the better. The less bar height on your tires is also good. LLSS class??  I wouldn't even think about it.
