Is it possible to put in a separate lever for the park brake on an 8000 series powershift? It's a pain to have to shift the range lever to neutral and the into park and then back again. Especially when stopping to open and close a gate before the cows get through. Obviously would still shift the range lever into neutral for stationary work.

It's a park LOCK, not a brake. And no, you can't have two levers. If you saw the way it was under the cab floor you would understand better. Maybe you need a couple of new cables to make shifting easier ??

I can't comprehend the trouble you think it is to "park" an 8000 PS. Two levers..clunk,clunk and you're there.

It's hard to describe the issue with this tractor. It has always been hard to shift the range lever out of low into neutral. Neutral to high or park works fine as does shifting it into low range from neutral. The gear selector lever is also stiff in this tractor, as in hard to shift 1 gear at a time. No difference hot or cold. I remember the cables being adjusted or replaced when it was still under warranty and they could never get it to shift like the others we had.

I should add that this tractor seems to have a lot of drag in the transmission. If I put the gear selector in neutral I have to keep my foot on the brakes or it will roll away. I always thought it was because this tractor is so much lighter than its big brothers but maybe that's not the reason. Would excessive internal drag make it hard to get the range lever out of low into neutral?

Ive got a 8070 i have to put the powershift into reverse to loosen up low range to get it out to neutral. I dont see it as a problem its just the way it is. Ive got another one that slides right out of low. I think new cables might help the firt one i just havent changed them yet
