Baleing hay

I have a ac wd45 and need to bale hay.
Can the tractor handle a cutditoner.
I have the right rake and baler for the tractor but not sure about the mower

I can run a New Holland 474 haybine with mine with no problems

I had always used the plastic 110/20,000 big round baler twine with my Roto-Baler. The twine knife has to be razor sharp and the tension has to be tighter. Some brands of plastic twine will cut easier than others. If the plastic twine you find doesn't cut cleanly, try another brand. I found the multi colored twine did not cut well the Orange plastic I could get, would cut cleanly. 

A "Cut-Ditioner" is a New Idea brand and works like a stalk shredder, whacking off the hay and throwing it a windrow. Takes more HP that a sickle with crimping rolls. Wouldn't be my choice for alfalfa due to leaf damage. Try it. Your tractor will pull it as fast as it has HP for.

Your blades need to be sharp and 7 foot would be better than 9 foot it’ll bring your 45 to her knees in heavy hay I could almost stall out my Allis 180 with a seven footer back in the 70s in heavy fine hay. good luck!

The Cut-Ditioner has 4 rows of staggered 6” cupped flail blades that can swivel on rods attached to a 12”? Diameter drum/cylinder/rotor??? Older models have a double chain drive & newer models have a belt drive. Turn off tractor pto on tight turns to not wreck pto cross bearings & yokes. It’s Gearbox has an “over-ride” clutch drive that allows rotor’s momentum to keep spinning freely, after pto stops.
In short(2’) thin hay , it can move along faster. In tall (4-5’) thick hay, its 1st gear & hand/foot ready on tractor clutch. Crank up its cutting height if too much of a pull.
As said previously, keep its blades sharp. Also allow hay to completely dry off from any heavy overnight dews before beginning to cut.

I pulled a 7 foot one with my D21run it at about 1400 rpm’s worked good

If I can't get binder twine can I use something else.
