My Project this winter has been a D17 IV . Tractor is nearly done (working not a restoration by any means).
I have an Allis 400 series loader to mount to it.This is the older style front mounted pump and valve mounted on . It would be nice to run it from the tractor hydraulics but I can't find how to get power beyond in either the parts book or the service manual. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Not sure what your thinking of doing, but you cannot plumb your existing 400 loader valve in-line with your chassis hydraulic system. You cannot make it "power beyond". You can purchase a power beyond capable valve and replace the loader valve with it and plumb it to the tractors system. Or you can also connect two hoses to that loader valve to the outlets on the back of the tractor and turn on one remote valve so the loader would then function. Or, just eliminate the loader valve and use the two remote valves on the back of the tractor, but that will require four longer hoses.

I wanted to keep the rear outlets to run my round baler or cultivator and keep the loader functional.
Looks like it is easier and cheaper to just run it off the front pump. Not as neat an installation though. Thanks guys |
