My 180 inj pump has a fuel drip when not running. Appears to originate from the backside, where I can’t see!!
All injector lines are tight. Maybe coming from as high as the throttle shaft but not sure. Runs fine. Any thoughts. |

Probably the shaft seals for the levers.

Mine does the same but when it is running. Could this be the same cause? I just had my pump rebuilt 3 years ago. |

could be same problem or a seeping inj. line. Clean area and dry. Sprinkle baby power around area then crank it up. Powder will turn brown or wash off at leak. MACK

Thanks.
Mack would I find the seals in my parts book and is it a reasonably basic repair? |

With a flashlite and a mechanics mirror, you should be able to isolate exactly where the leak is coming from.

Not on the 180, but did this same repair to a Roosa on a Case. They seem to be pretty notorious for this drip. Its simple once you realize you have to pop that little C shaped clip off in the center of the throttle shaft and then pull both halves of the shaft out their respective sides. That's the clip that Mack says don't drop.
I only mention this because after you pull the cover off, it isn't immediately obvious how that shaft comes apart. And remember to clean the pump and surrounding area BEFORE you crack the lid because it becomes a wide open dirt magnet.

Thanks again! I found the seals in the parts book, are they seals or just an oring. Some online chat said an oring works?

Your video probably shows this better, but here's some pics from the manual. Not the exact model, but gives you a good idea of what to expect. |

My 180 was leaking. Switched from steel washers to copper washers on the fuel line banjo fittings at the pump. Obtained the washers from a diesel pump shop in Wichita, Ks. Gave him $5 for twelve washers. He gave me 13 because people seem to loose at least one.
Torque to 420 inch pounds (35 foot pounds). The ones on the back are real fun (NOT!) to replace the washers and torque.
