Found a 7045 on Tractorhouse that stated 145HP. All I have really ever seen was 173HP stated on there. I looked up the tractor test data and found the tractor was rated from the factory at 146HP. Why is it that all the 7045s are advertised at 173? are they really 145 or 173?

Some people like to brag about what the dynamometer said. They never were "set" like that from the Factory. There is a difference between 145 PTO HP and engine flywheel HP, which in this case would be about 165 to 170 at the flywheel.

I see a lot of tractors advertised on tractor house listing the engine hp, which is likely the case here. Many times the person listing the tractor and specs really has little knowledge about them. Just typing specs and loading pics.

As far as the basic tractor?? not much difference that you will see. The transmission will have different speeds if a Power Director style and shifter not on the floor. The hydraulic couplers are down low unless your 7030 has been updated to those newer couplers. The rear end is a 7050/7060 heft with larger diameter axles. Dozens and dozens of other minor changes from 1973 to 1978.
