As mentioned in my other post I bought two 200s this spring. One will pop out of third going up hill and tonight the other one popped out going down hill with a 273 square baler hooked to it. What is the fix for this?

Don't put a strap or bungie cord to hold them in gear all that doe's is wear the fork out have someone move the notch on the shifting rail. I have done that on many A-C trans. covers !

yes,I think there is 2 special bolts in cover for locating plate...pay attention. Don't remember if there is a certain gear you should put it in to make easier to remove/install.If so it's usually 2nd?

The proper fix is a complete teardown and rebuilding of the transmission. Around $1500 worth of parts (not including labor). Anything else is just a band aid.

So it's usually a gear or bearing problem and not a shifter fork problem?

Actually, it's an operator problem. If a guy was to push the clutch in while in any gear, stop the rear wheels from turning and shift, it will never start popping out of gear. ANY grinding while shifting isn't the gears, they are meshed all the time. What is grinding away is the spline on the hub of the gear and the collar you are sliding over it. Once they are rounded off to the point of popping out of gear, the sure fix is replacing the collar and the gear, to get new full contact area. |

Send me your shift cover and I'll work it over. If it still jumps out of gear, you need gears bearings and shift couplings.
