    Posted: 19 May 2017 at 7:19am
Good morning,

I have a problem getting the shift plate back on after changing the forks to fix the problem of slipping out of 3rd gear. My issue is that when the plate is back on, unable to shift into gears. Any ideas what the issue is? I believe the forks are in the proper position when it's bolted back on, but the shifter will not go into gear?

Shift cover AND THE TRANSMISSION must be in second gear. Be sure to install special dowel bolts in left front and right rear corners when sitting in the seat.

Using the 2nd gear position, we can get the shift plate on, in place and bolted with what looks like the correct fork position, but then the tractor still won't shift? Any other known issues that we could try?

If the cover shifts into ALL positions while clamped in a vise, you aren't getting the forks aligned with the shifting collars when you set it on the tractor. Rotate the trans gears so that if the 3rd/4th collar gets bumped it cannot move either way. Make sure reverse idler is rearward. Don't use any kind of line-up dowel. Just set it on and it will find it'd way into place.
