 Topic: D17 REAR WHEELS ???

The wheel adjustment eccentrics and wheel centers for my D17 Series 3 don't look like those in the parts catalog. There should be 2 bolts holding each eccentric on the wheel instead of one and there is no eccentric to adjust. (Can't figure out to upload the picture that is too large for this site or I would add it.) Did the previous owner replace the originals with something off of ??? Thanks for any help.

Several items were improved on the series III tractors. The power adjust wheels centers are one item. The D17IV, 170, 175 share the improved adjusters. I am not sure about the 180 and 185's.

I'm guessing you have the style used later on...That is to say,they are one bolt and the wheel has a ramp matching the back side of clamp so when you tighten bolt it wedges clamp tight against rail.Stops are still needed on rails to keep wheel in position.On this type you need to tighten clamps evenly or wobble and out of round will get you.

Maybe someone can chime in on the best way to adjust the improved style wheel centers. I always struggle to get the wheel runing true.

Yes, it appears to be a 170 and later design. I'm very appreciative of the all the help I found in such a short period of time. AC was a large and great company, and it's another shame in the decline of America's industrial heartland but it's great that there are those of you that keep the flame alive.

The change was made with the Series III and continued in the 100 series. Only one bolt to loosen on each rail.

Sorry, I forgot to include mention of the Canadian followers who keep the flame alive. I bought an operator's manual for a 500 series loader that once belonged to a probably proud buyer in Alberta.

Prior to series 3 took a 3/4" socket to turn the four eccentric bolts. Effective with series 3 takes an 1 1/4" ? socket to loosen/tighten the four hex nuts.
