The wife said it's alright to keep it! All crop 66, I'm sure I'll have lots of questions. |

Delighted to see another All Crop saved.
I remember when I hitched them to the pickup we used an offset hitch. Made for wobbling at higher speed. However, it worked. Looks good. Let us know how it goes. Good Luck! Bill Long

Well, where'd you get it, how much you give for it, what does it need, and what are you going to use it for?
Yes I'm nosy. |

Got it just north of Amherst in central Wi., which fortunately for me was only about 10 miles from my house. Needs a new lower draper, the reel rebuilt and the concave patched (has some holes). Been kept outside for the last few years so some rust holes are not a surprise. Got it for $400 which I'm not sure if that's a decent price for around central Wisconsin or not but being close made it a lot easier to spring for it. I'll be using it this summer/fall on some oats, soybeans and going to try it on sunflowers (trying to lower my chicken feed costs).

Nice Doug! I don't think the wife would let me keep that! Plus I think I would have to post that under the "Wife gave me a black eye" topic for even asking!

Doug Nice fine - is this a model 66 All Crop?
Dad bought a new All Crop 66 in 1954 with 18 bu bin , straw chopper and scour kleen . Will work nice behind your D17. Good luck. Edited by WD45 - 18 Mar 2017 at 11:21am |

If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.

Is there a lot of tongue weight on a 66? I guess I thought they looked pretty balanced, header in front of the axle, all the walkers and shoe and everything else behind the axle, grain bin and cylinder above the axle, seems like a good setup.

No, It seems to be pretty well balanced so it did bounce up and down a lot.

I have to pull one about 20 miles. I have been building an offset hitch for it. Just seeing your first picture helps me out, I was worried about the PTO shaft hitting the bumper or tailgate but it looks like it will hang straight down at the u-joint, so that should be alright.

I tied the pto shaft back to the support for the shaft and it stayed just fine, at first I thought it was a 60 also but the pickup is 66 inches wide, that and the 6 batt reel that was an option on the 60 but standard on the 66 are the only noticeable differences (if I've done my homework properly), unless it's a "big bin" 66 then their are some other differences.

Looks nice! Pull those patches off the concave, and take another pic. That would be interesting to see.
What I find to be the most amusing is the way the bats are on the wrong sides of the reel arms. Lol I have a combine similar to that- small bin, but 6 bat reel and header with flares. Mine is a 60A with a 66 header because the serial number starts with a "A". ALL 66 serial numbers start with a "B". (B does not indicate Big Bin like some think)\ I'm glad you're saving it from the scrapper! I'm a sucker for these All-Crops, and I've already got 6 (three 60A's, 1 Camel Back, 1 BB 66, and a Super 100). Two of them are in my possession, and 4 I still need to get around to hauling to the ranch from various places. One of them is residing in MN for the time being.

The 1953 models or the first year of production of the 66 has the 60 bin. 1954 and up they are the 25 bu. Big Bin. If you have questions or looking for parts Travis2766 just pm me.
