Topic: Latest Project Finished...D-19 DieselPosted: 23 Feb 2017 at 12:04pm |
|
Just finished up this 1961 D-19 diesel a few days ago. Tractor was pretty much gone through from front to back. Engine overhaul and transmission overhaul. Mechanical work was done at Folkers Bros. Garage in Hartington, Nebraska. It was a pretty in depth project locating and building the missing parts on the three point hitch and other items on this tractor. The paint was finished up by me at my shop. Customers came up yesterday and picked it up before the snow storm hit today and tomorrow. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Just wanted to share. Thanks. |

A very nice job, Matt. If I ever get to Nebraska, I'd love to stop by and see your shop/old dealership.

Oh man, is that beautiful! Beyond beautiful! Just plain gorgeous. If that was a chick, it'd be a 10! D 19's rank pretty high on my scale anyhow, as my very first Allis tractor and restoration was my D 19. Mine's a gasser, though, but sure would love a diesel. Darrel

I'd imagine that he doesn't want to scuff the paint, but I don't know. I've never seen it done that way. Maybe he's not going too far. Guess if it falls off, then the paint may get really scuffed. Darrel

'xactly! Just brought that point up in a discussion over on YT yesterday. Fact of the matter is no tie downs are needed to keep the tractor on the trailer during normal operation, but when some dim whit cuts you off and you have to head for the ditch do you really want the tractor skidding along upside down beside or behind the trailer? Not Me. Oh, Nice job on the D19! as usual ![]() Edited by Butch(OH) - 24 Feb 2017 at 7:44am |
