My 190 doesn't have PD problem have pressure on both sides, and the other thing is when I have the pto engaged there is nothing it doesn't turn. The tractor itself won't even go forward. How could I tell which main shaft could be broke and where do I need to split it at. Split it at the clutch or split it back by PD.

Seems like this is an on-going issue with this particular tractor?? and the story has changed from the first posting?? If the tractor doesn't move in either high or low range on the Power Director and it has hydraulic pressure, AND the PTO won't power anything, I'd think the foot clutch disc has the center ripped out of it. Remove the belt pulley cover and get a vise-grips on the clutch shaft and see if you can turn the shaft. I've never seen a twisted off clutch shaft in a 190 except in a 1200 HP Puller, and then it broke at the rear, not front.

Well after I had put gauges on it and had someone watch the pto and then seen if the pin came out the rear end like you suggested. I had my dad come over and he pretty much said that the only other thing it could be he thought was a main shaft one that went from the clutch or the one that goes to the PD. My story still the same it doesn't go forward nor goes it go reverse. The pto was running when this all happened when I was mowing BUT when I got it up to the barn and got the mower unhooked. And had some one watch the pto it never turned. It does seem like this tractor has always had on going issues if it wasn't for a new PD, 3 yrs ago, injection pump and injectors rebuilt 2yrs ago, and just this spring a fresh in frame overhaul, I think I'd probably sold the thing by now. But I can't you guys know how it is.

Got into it and Dr.Allis is right I twisted the clutch center out so now it's time to start splitting it. Any recommendations on the type of clutch to put in it.

I'd lookup Rick Corder on here. He refaces clutches and brake bands. He does an excellent job and charges a very good price. I just got a WD45 clutch from him in the mail Saturday.

Original posting on Sept 2nd and Sept 6th stated the PTO worked. That is what led to the suggestion to check the differential spider pin.

I can tell you this about a 190 I once had. I bought it and it worked great at first (only a couple of days), then it started to just sit there when I put it in gear and let out on the clutch...nothing. Put it in reverse and it worked fine...put it back in a forward gear and it would maybe go forward or it might just sit there. Checked everything, I thought. Then it started to work just fine and then one day I heard a loud pop. It started to pull to the right and wouldn't turn left at all and then it stopped altogether. All I could do was to drive it in reverse. I figured it had to be the rear end...and, it was. When I pulled the rear end out of the tractor, it came in a five gallon bucket full of pieces. Somehow and it must have been doing this for a while, the pin came part way out and actually cut the rear end in half like you used a knife! Never seen anything like that before. Anyone else ever see this particular thing happen like that?  Rick

For light work or loader work the solid disc is better than the pad disc IMO.
