Friends:
Last year at the swap meet I saw a vendor selling refurbished seat suspensions for D series tractors. I would like to buy one. Does anyone know if he is on this forum, or have the contact info of someone who sells refurbished suspensions.?Thank you. Edited by Kddrck - 09 Dec 2023 at 2:11pm |

Pretty easy to do yourself. Hardest part is driving out the old rusted pins. When everything is apart, I have my local fab shop make new pins and put new bushings in all the parts. Pant and put back together, will be as good as new. I have done several and have another one to do this winter.

How much do you have invested when you do it yourself? |

Been several years since I did one. Shaft and bushings done by the fab shop and a new shock absorber are the only real expenses. Just my time to take it apart and put it back together.

Thanks for the reply. DJS sells the pins and bushings. I think I’ll go ahead and tackle it myself.

Don't even try to remove those tiny roll pins. Lay the suspension on its side, supported solidly at each pivot pin with a piece of pipe and drive the pivot pin thru the pipe shearing off the roll pins. A big hammer and strong arm with solid and squared blocking works the best.

Just got done doing a suspension rebuild on my recently purchased D17 series one. Roll pins are a pita, but got those removed. 1/2 pins were rusted tight in several places, used some heat and they slide free. Puchased the bushings and replacment shock assembly from DJS. I made the pins from 1/2 cold rolled steel. Overall a very good design! Good Luck, Mike
