I been looking for one that is rusted out, bent in, shot at, or for any other reason unusable for a working tractor. There has to be a bad tank out there somewhere, but no leads that bear fruit. Finding a good one will be harder yet.

If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.
Real pullers don't have speed limits. If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY |

I have used Red Cote on several tanks with good results. Main thing is the tank needs to be as clean as possible. I put mine in old seed cleaner that tumbles and put about a gallon of gravel. Wash out with soap and hot water two or three times and let dry completely. There is also a pre cleaner you can also use. After putting in the Coating, make sure you get all the excess out and let dry for several days. Neighbor didn't clean well and left too much in the bottom and it bubbled up. Now way to get it out so had to get a new tank.

I've never used the Red Kote, but I have done a couple with some stuff I got from Eastwood and had good luck. As with most stuff like this, surface prep is very important. It has to be perfectly clean for any product to work and last.
Here is the link for the stuff I used:

That Red Kote works great! I've done several tractors & and a 1960 f-100 that I got a gallon paint can half full of rust out of, that was bout 10 yrs. ago never had any problems since !! Follow directions on can , when you think it's dry wait one more day!!

I can't remember what it's called, but the stuff I used was blue. I got it at Carquest but I think DJs sells the same stuff. I've seen a blue flake or two in the sediment bowl but no major problems. What everyone says about prep is true. It says on the can it will seal and lock in rust, but you don't want a lot. The cleaner the better.
