OK, I finally looked at all 3 of my D-14s and NONE of them have the #11 SPRING, compensating in the 'GOVERNOR CONTROL' picture..
I also KNOW there was a discussion about it,2-3 montha ago, but I can't find it
so....
just WHERE does the spring attach to ? A picture would help....
thanks
Jay

They have all broken over time and you haven't missed it. Their purpose was to keep the effort of operating the throttle lever the same from idle thru high idle. They assisted the hand lever in stretching the governor spring to the wide open position. As long as your hand throttle stays fully open and doesn't creep slower, the tractor will operate fine.

The Parts Catalog for D-14 and 149 Power Unit illustrations both show the spring to be going straight up.

May be hooked to a manifold bolt.

Sure would take an awful long spring to hook under the gas tank.

That is a different spring for governor surge issues. Two different springs and two different locations.
