While taking the brakes off, I also removed the bearing carrier off the right side to put in a new seal and O ring. I noticed this one has no lip for the back of the oil seal to mate to. The left side had one and the ones on my D17 diesel had them. Should I find one that has a lip? IF not, how far do I knock in the new seal? There is no place for it to stop. ![]()

Just get it flush/square on one side or the other, usually from the inside. Take notice..... you'd better have the axle square to the seal or you'll ding the seal when going together.

Thanks Doc! I'll tackle it next weekend. People might not say it enough, but your advice and wisdom are most certainly appreciated here!
