A 3-point hitch/lift arm assembly/lift cylinders from a One-Ninety will in no way fit a D-17 prior to a series 4. The F-2 diesel engine doesn't have a hydraulic pump drive feature on it if I remember right, so you'd have to change the front end of the engine to be able to use a hydraulic pump.

Hum well darn on the 3 point. & I do have a couple 301 plates that I could mount a pump to that little 4 cylinder. They want so darn much for the series 4 & 170s though about looking fore a bad engine 180 but the price would need to be around $500 I have only got 2 of them for that price ever

I have a F2 engine in a wd45 and run a live hydro pump off the double pulley that run the pump on the combine. Have it mounted below. Had to rework the wishbone for the wide front end.

One of my neighbors did just that this winter. He has the turbo intercooled 201 in an early D17. The steering shaft into the front bolster he had to offset using some roller chain. The power steering cylinder had to be removed also because it wouldn't clear the engine. He used the 201 flywheel and a clutch disc and pressure plate from a Chevy truck because the original D17 stepped wheel would have added several inches to the length of the tractor. He did have to make a 1 inch spacer between the engine and torque tube in order to get the narrower truck pressure plate to fit. Both hoods had to be trimmed to clear the turbo and the intercooler. After he got it together it produced 80hp on the PTO.

Very true Creston. My neighbor Bill is pretty good at building stuff. Not only did he repower his D17, he also has what he calls a Super B Farmall. It has like 38" or 42" sprayer tires on it, a homemade front bolster extension, and powered by a 4.3 Chevy V6. Running the 4.3 about 3500 with the tall rear tires makes it run about 35 mph.

And a wad of cash to get the job done.Repowering with a different engine rarely pays. I've bought many half done repower jobs over the years for a fraction of what the owner had invested not counting time.About the best one(dumbest?) was a guy was trying to put a Chevy 327 in a C. |
