I have an early 190 that appears to have the serial numbers ground off.  The turbo is shot and would like to replace it.

Early 190s used a Rayjay turbo which is no longer in business.  You will need to switch to an AirResearch T04 turbo - you will need new oil lines as well.

I have a good Ray Jay turbo. I will get the numbers from it soon. It was rebuilt and has very little hours on it. Will sell for $200.00.

It shouldn't be assumed that his "early" 190XT has a Thompson/Rajay turbo. It might have been swapped to an Air-Research 30 or 40 years ago by someone else. It might have had a newer engine installed. Who knows !! LOOK AT THE OLD TURBO AND SEE WHAT BRAND IT IS !!  Not on a tag...the brand is molded into the compressor housing with raised letters.
