   My D-17 puller had 300 psi. It required 114 octane fuel.  240 psi works well with 110 octane.

   300psi wow, surprised we're talking octane and not cetane at those numbers  
   
  ![]() Sure it'd run somewhat OK on diesel with 300psi, must be a real ripper on gas when she gets on song!

   My local alternator/generator/starter shop (which there are very few left these days) installed some stronger field windings on my D-17 engine, which was already 12 volts. I used an 880 CCA battery and welding cable for my battery cables. My WD was just a stock 6V Delco starter with a center bearing in it, and again an 880 CCA batt and welding cables.
