Made a big mistake on the restoration of my B. I did not plan on doing this much of a restore of it at this time , but I am going to. Problem is I am cleaning the engine so question is if I clean the engine with gas and air dry it can I just prime over this or spray it with something else. Thanks Dave

Use a prepping solvent to clean it before you prime it.

The paint will most likely peal in a year or so. After cleaning you will need to rough it up to get the paint to bond.
After roughing it up you should wipe it down with grease and wax remover. Paint thinner will work most of the time.

This discussion is way over my head.
However, I hope you listen closely to the experts. I am looking to see another of my favorites restored. Good Luck! Bill Long
