I recently acquired a 76 maroon 7000 that was told needed fuel pump or injectors worked on, so I made an offer and got it. Just what I need, another project. Thinking the rest is in pretty good working order as he was pulling a batwing when he said it just started running bad. Well, I got it started, and it has a pretty serious hammer towards upper middle of the block. My guess is it spun a rod bearing and stacked the 2 bearings causing the piston to hit the head. It didn't crank over hard with the starter, as he'd been trying to start it before I got it. After I heard it and shut it off right away, I put a ratchet on the front pulley and it won't easily turn all the way around. So, I either need to find (somewhat locally)ideally an engine out of a maroon 7000, a combine engine to strip and swap, or will consider selling it as it sits. It's in pretty decent shape, hoods are a little beat, but there. Cab is missing the door, but otherwise in pretty good shape.
