You haven't been married long enough to know two "cardinal rules" of life and marriage. 1. You know the honeymoon is over when the wife comes in and takes a while you brush your teeth. 2. It is easier to beg forgiveness than ask permission.

Hubert I’ve always valued your advice but on this one I’m a bit concerned. |

That is a very good agreement to have. Far too many run rampant with the expenditures and attempt to figure a way to pay for it afterward. Our non discretionary spending agreement is simple. A certain threshold is set and anything above that amount we discuss. Below the threshold, no approval is required. Kind of like a recharging allowance package but basically, "don't spend what you don't have".

prices of trucks have gone thru the roof is past 2 years. glad I bought my dually when i did, would have to pay $5000. or more to buy same truck now. that truck sounds like a good one, don't let it get away! with them miles, most everything has prolly been gone thru or replaced already.

My cousin once remarked that his wife never spends more money than he makes... I'd be real careful about dumping a bucket load of dirt into that rusted pickup, if I were you...

HEY THAD!! I'm getting in on this discussion really late (as usual) but that sounds like a lot of truck for the money. I've got a 2004 1/2 ton and it's in really good shape for Wisconsin, hardly any rust. My problem with it is that it doesn't run. I was going down the road and it just quit. I've gotta haul it somewhere so they can see what the fuel pump is putting out. I'm gonna start there as it has a FULL tank of gas and I'm not dropping that unless I have to. It will always be my go to truck! The problems with Chevies came AFTER the 2008 series and all the pollution crap etc. IF, as John says, it's rusted, I'd pass. Chevy has been notorious for rusting out, as we all know. As far as football goes......I'm gonna become a hockey fan and I know squat about that!

Ted, you dont usually drop the tank on that era of truck anymore. I find its much easier to take the bolts, filler neck and light harness loose and lift the bed off with a cherry picker or loader tractor. Remove tailgate, hook straps in the tie down loops and lift it off. Im hoping Thad ends up with that truck and it proves to be as reliable the old one.

Going to try to go see it today.
As far as I can see in the pics it has no rust. If it did I wouldn’t be interested at any price. |

I would have found it surprising if it still was there given the elapsed time since initially located. Very few sellers have morals no matter what they say when someone puts the cash on the barrel head.

That happened to me 3 times before I found the one I have now. Took a year.
I had to jump on it right now and was 1 1/2 hours away

Yes this one was a couple hours away. The guy really tried to make it work out but our schedules just didn’t work out. Not in a hurry but need to jump on something if another deal shows up. |

Well,,after losing a few really good deals,,all along,,,,I could NOT figure why or HOW I was loosing out even tho I would try contacting the seller almost right after the post was placed,,,? Last couple of weeks there was a 1980s ONE TON square body with a "running" 454 in the town right next door,,, for the unheard of price of $600,,!!!!! I sent them 4 messages trying to get a response and my last message I even offered them $700 for the truck hoping to win the bid. I NEVER RECEIVED A RESPONSE!! WTH?? Quickly called my Brother for Him to try,as he does FACEBOOK all the time. They responded to him right quick! The seller told my bro that they had got a offer for $700 but since I my FB Profile was NOT complete,,they did not trust my bid!! Ain't that the s?? I had my BRO buy the trk and the dude even delivered to my house for the SAME PRICE as advertised. This will never happen again,,,,,,,Guess, I'm gonna have to complete my FB profile If I ever want to win anything,,,, |

Well, Thad,,it's too bad on that trk you were really wanting but don't fret too much,,there will be more that's for sure. I never had too much use for FB as I figured it was mostly Teenie Boppers telling stories to each others anyway. I only joined because it was necessary to get to the Marketplace, So, I never completed my profile. ( Who Wants To Know Bout Old People Anyway) I have made several good deals and a few really great ones too,,,and also LOST some really great ones! My younger Bro finally convinced me that many "sellers" will check your profile BEFORE they respond to any requests for info and since mine was never completed,,,,,SO, with the assistance with my college educated Granddaughter, I re-did my profile last nite plus included a few choice tidbits to fool the curtain climbers as well as some never before seen pics of "The Lambo 55",,,, I have to get some honey do's done this week and am gonna roll the Red Car out of the garage, where it has been hiding for almost 6 years!! Gosh, time flies,,don't it,,? Then,,I'm gonna jump into completing the restoration with Both Feet,,!! Any volunteers are welcome to come help,,,I bought plenty of Black Label for the really brave souls out there,,,,, Edited by desertjoe - 21 Jun 2023 at 7:26pm |
