Bought and 1968 D 21 series 2 on Sept16, 1971, remember the date cause my son was born that day too. Got 2 for 1 on that day, and about 6 months later bought the WD that my dad bought new in 1949.

Great picture. We have a few that show or presents from over the years, just not one of the 1/16 scale tractor I got WAY back when.
Now I'd like to know how this Christmas matching PJ thing started and when. I don't remember hearing of this until recently. Musta been lost in a time warp to never know about it Wink

WD45 gas wide front, around 1985. That was my first AC tractor bought with my own money. I bought a refurbished Roto-baler from Curless Implement in Liberal Mo in 1970 or so while I was in High School.

Bought first AC in 2005  a '49 B, wouldn't start pushed on trailer about 10 miles from home.  Bought a '39 B wouldn't start, pushed it on the trailer about 480 miles from home.  Bought a '52 CA wouldn't start pushed it on the trailer about 125 miles from home.  Don't remember what years last 2 were bought but all 3 start and run good now. Mostly use them for hay rides and parades.

My first Allis purchase 1962 was a 1/64 th model C to hang on the Christmas tree.  It STILL hangs on the Christmas tree.
It wouldn't be till YEARS later that I bought my first REAL tractor.  I had the land and just wanted to start farming again, so I bought my beloved of all time, a WD45 gas at an auction.  Did a lot of work WITH it and ON it.  Still have it but it doesn't get used much now.  Too pretty....

I'm surprised JC!  My Mom was quite the seamstress also.  She made PJ's for us kids too, but I don't think she ever made any for Dad.  If she did, he never wore um...... I don't know if he ever wore any!!Wink

1943 C paid $50 showed it to my wife after she told me we couldn't afford a tractor. I told her $50 runs and drives. No electric start. No PTO or hydraulics. She looked at it and told me it needed tires. Went to town the next day and spent $450 on tires. I bought another one without an engine the next week. I put the PTO and hydraulics on it the electric start and foot brakes on it. I had it from 1985 till I gave it away last summer. I converted it to 12 volt back in 86. It's always started on the first pull on the crank.

Bought a 53 WD-45 and rear 80r mower in the mid 90s to mow my acreage. Several years later discovered I could mow twice as fast with a 48" zero turn mower. Now I use it to plow for the tractor club. We get requests to help people who need some plowing done. Have a 53-14 plow. Most places can be plowed in 3rd gear 8" deep. Have 3 45's now, Gas, Propane, and Diesel, 66 Al-crop, rear blade, and bunch of other implements needing repair.

MikeZ, thats a WD. LOL Wish I had not broken the front pedestal off of it.

CTucker, I remember mom working on the PJ's many late nights after chores cutting and sewing away on her Necchi sewing machine... mom tried to put us to bed early, 7-8pm but I was kinda like a hootie owl... and would wake up little later and run around for awhile... LOL

Ted, As I remember, she made a couple sets of PJ's but later it became easier just to buy them, and keep the overalls and jeans patched... Was hard on my clothes for some strange reason specially the knees and upper legs... LOL

First Allis on our farm was an All Crop 60 probably, late 50's, followed by a All Crop 90 a couple years later.  Then a WD which we used on a farm we had from 76 to 84.  When I moved back to the country in 2004 went looking for a tractor and got a 170, which I still have, followed by a 5015, and now a D15.
My great uncle was a Rumely and then Allis dealer in Ontario, and Dad had worked with his business and always liked the AC equipment, so just continues in our family.

Trade dad out of HD 5 in 78 when I started farming on my own. Uncle bought it new planted 600 acres plus and summer fallowed the same with it and JD A. At 10 years old he had the dealer rebuild it. Rented land sold a year or 2 latter and he stop farming and ran a few cows. Uncle sold HD 5 to my dad about 1970. Its still here needs tracks real bad but still get a little work out of it. Did all my planting with it until the last 3 or 4 years.

First AC I payed real money for was a 1978 MH 2 Gleaner in the early 90's.

First crawler I drove was dads K, I was about 12 or 13. Had to be tall enough to push the brake and still pull the steering clutch.

Bought my first Allis, a '41 B, in the early 80"s, a few years after we moved to Maine. I bought it with a stuck engine ("it ran when we backed it into the line") from an AC dealer in Auburn, Maine. I rented a trailer from the local Agway manager for $20 and took off with my 72 Chevy 1/2 ton, with the Irish setter riding shotgun, to fetch her. I had bought some chains and hooks to "tie her down", (who ever heard of chain binders).

Loaded, set the brakes and put her in gear. When I got home, the engine was free from the rocking back and forth. Put in some gas, towed it and was running in a half hour. After buying about 16 more tractors, this '41 B is next in line for restoration. Bob@allisdowneast

I used to think I was indecisive, but now I'm not sure.

Our farm has been AC since the late 30s.  I grew up on a 7045 pedal tractor, learned to drive on the 1947 C but other than toys my first real AC piece was the Roto Baler my cousin and I bought when I was 15.  That was the proverbial snowball, since we had the baler we should have the bale loader, the pto rake, a few all crops, corn pickers, choppers, drills, planters, cultivators, more tractors, etc etc etc.
