Internet prices...in central PA there has been an uptick in prices since 2020. However, I suspect many over-priced internet ads are reluctant sellers, sellers who know the selling price only goes down, and folks who bought them long ago when prices were higher and they expect their stuff to sell for as much as they paid plus some appreciation.
If I find something special with a crazy price, after looking at unit/item (if not too far away), I ask the seller how he arrived at the price. I have my phone handy to show comparable units and their prices to make a fair offer. Sometimes they admit it was a guess. Sometimes they describe sentimental attachment as the reason for the high $$. Sometimes they pull out receipts of $$ work done on the unit. Sometimes they are just plain crazy... Then leave your contact info for them to mull over your fair offer (verify it was a fair offer) and call you back w/in a couple weeks. Don't burn any bridges... |
