Got a 2900 short block a few weeks back to put in a 190xt and was tearing it down to send off to be cleaned up and whenever I got the sleeves out that I had hairline cracks in the block... they don’t appear to have made it to the deck or counterbore yet but one runs all the way to the bottom side of the counterbore but hasn’t reached the machined part of it yet. Is this block toast or if it is usable is there going to be any problems down the rd?

If they are all at top of block, they are OK.                       MACK
