Just used the 5020 with the snow blower to clear the lane to get hay in the horse shelters for tonight and tomorrow. The wind was 18 mph with higher gusts at 8ยบ F with a tad of white out. Wish it had doors on the cab. It has clear plastic side shields that snap fast. Problem is I can't snap them. If I did build doors I would have to have a door in a door on the right side to crank the shoot from side to side. For this year what it is what it is. It does a fantastic job. With it on float going slow the auger will chew frozen snow ice tracks down some. I am happy with it over all. Seat needs replaced and the fenders have cracks on top where the cab bolts fast. The clutch linkage was changed to where my long legs are almost are to short.

Is it a lot easier to get on and off compared to the B ? Can you design doors to keep the access GOOD ? Door in a door, or BIG WINDOW don't sound like a bad idea.
See a few "cabs" basic and built out of plywood and plexiglass... Something to pop off in the summer might be good ? Edited by steve(ill) - 29 Jan 2019 at 2:06pm |

Easier to get off and on when I don't have size 11 insulated and double insulated coveralls with long johns under it all. I need to modify the left fender to get my right foot past my leg with felt lined muck boots.

I have these doors on my cab. both open so I can get to the crank
on the right side and I get in and out on the left. The frame is a
hefty steel rod bent to the shape of the door. I'm thinking the size of
a regular pencil or maybe a little larger. The handles just slide
back and forth, and latch in a slot on the cab frame. They are held on
with two little brackets on each side. one on at the top one at the
bottom. Two bolts hold them on and the door rod protrudes at those
points into a hole in the brackets. |

Yours is better thought out from the start. I would have to modify to ge the crank inside. It might be easier to put a chain drive to an electric motor rather than the crank. I'll most likely think about all different fixes and buy warmer duds.
