Got the new motor starting battery in. Darn thing has a ground wire that goes between the battery cable and the - battery cable. It aint fun to do on a side post battery while the battery is down in a hole. I gots the washer fluid tank out to replace it. Its fun, gots the new pup licking my face all the time I am under the motor home. Gotta run all new washer fluid hose. Don't know how that's gonna work out. Many small holes and nooks and cranny to feed it thru. Old gal was able to get outta the house today. She was icable.motor home measuring.   She's got it into her hard head that I'm gonna gut about 1/3 of this thing and redo it. RIGHT not gonna happen till I get a few more things done. Gonna air up the tires and sir bags and take a short trip next week. Bought another trailer to pull last week. Its gotta go to the welding shop for minor repair. I gots the wheel bearings replaced and the holes drilled to move the fenders up a couple of inches. Inner races on the wheel bearings are thinner than the old bearings so I gotta get a couple of washers to go between the bearing and castrated nuts. I don't know why I don't stop buying this old junk and just buy new stunuts.I think I'm gonna buy one of those infer red grills next week. Won't have nothing cooked on it but hamburgers.

If'n it'll stop this darn raining ill get these parts on today. Had to get a new washer fluid tank. Its like me a little fatter than it should be. I gots to drill 4 new holes in the bracket. Might have to head to H.F. and buy me one of those 90° drills. That'll take up most of the day. Got the welding done on the trailer and new wheel bearings in it. Gotta paint it and put the new wiring on it, then should be ready to head for AZ next fall. Boys at the body shop said to use epoxy paint on it. Never tried it before. In guessing the old gal will stand there and tell me just what I'm doing wrong.

Got the steering controller on and that darn washer fluid tank. Hands and arms are scared. Not only was the darn new one fatter, it was longer too. Had to make 2 trips to town and buy strap iron to redesign the whole mounting setup. 1st trip I forgot my darn billfold and ck book. Thus 2 trips to town. Darn this getting old. I see I gotta pull the dog house, looks like a couple of heater hoses are seeping a little at some of the connectors. Gots the 07 dodge van hauled to town on the new trailer. Worked good, pal at the dealership will cut me a chip key tomorrow. Was gonna haul grandsons broke down Toyota home but the battery was dead and you gotta have a battery in the car to get the tranny iN neutral. Its sitting at the dealership. This is the last darn Toyota I'll ever buy. Was hoping it was drying out enough to get some Alalafa seed in the ground. Not yet.

It ain't just Toyotas, Tom... my wife's Honda CRV is same way... the interlock features are 'computer controlled'.  I believe, though, that my Dad's Toyota has a tiny little slot for a little metal tab that you can use to defeat the shifter interlock for dead towing.

I prefer simpler things... hand operated interlock... put it in park, take it out of park, do something smart like... STEP ON THE BRAKE.

I know... they're trying to make life safer... keep kids from getting in and putting it in gear while the parents run inside for the stuff they forgot....

The more we incorporate safety features into things, the more our children become dependant upon 'safety features'.  Eventually, we'll entrust our every part of life to machines...

And we all know how much we can trust machines, right?  LOL
Ten Amendments, Ten Commandments, and one Golden Rule solve most every problem. Citrus hand-cleaner with Pumice does the rest.

I actually bought him a Honda Accord wagon. Hes loving it. He has enough room in the back of it to get all his fishing gear. It runs good, little 4 banger, 30 + mpg. A couple of years older but great heat, great air conditioning, great mpg. His dad is on his way home from Afaganstan as I am entering this. Hoping he will find him a 4x4 pickup for graduating HS this year. He'd sure love 1.

Tom, quit being such a spendthrift and get you a NEW one.  You worked all your life to get what you've got.  Who's going to spend your money when you die?

My order is still in for a new to me pickup. I spoke to a different GM dealer last week. This dealership has dealerships all over the US. 4 different brands of dealerships. Salesman said. "Tell me what you want, what color, what options, and any other stuff you want and I will feed it into the GM, Ford,Chrysler, and Honda computers and I will find you a truck you want". It will not come from an auto auction. When it slows down here I might take him up on this. Would like to get a newer GM or Dodge unit.
