It was -8 or so this morning. We cleaned out from the blizzard. The tractor was in the garage last night so it would start this morning. It only has a 6 volt system. The 1950 WD did a nice job. I have a shut off valve on the loader and one on the rear hydralics, so that I can run each one independently. It works pretty good. Besides my driveway, I helped or cleared 4 others. We had to put the chains on because it was a little ice underneath and I got the front wheels off the over the edge of a neighbors drive and it would not move. Had to give it a tug. That would be when it would be nice to have a powered bucket and not a trip bucket. Pastor Mike in Iowa |

I have a 3 way valve on my 45 so I can have the loader and the blade on at the same time. I cleared my drive out this afternoon and was thinking I could use the chains, but I just remembered, since I don't have the blade on back I don't have half the ballast either. I may have to plan an afternoon get together with my brother or SIL to help me get the blade out of the drift and get it on.

Oh and nice looking rig Pastor Mike. I sometimes wish my 45 had some paint on it. Then the nuts flying by on the road could see me better while I'm out there pushing snow.

Chuck the paint looks better in the picture than it really is. The blade I paid 100 dollars for, it helps to have it. Thanks guys.

I bought my heavy duty 3pt blade for $20. I spent another 20 on material and a few short hours in the shop to replace the bent pivot. I added a SC hitch I took off an old junk 4 row planter and it works great.

Max I hope you get the CA going! But I don't blame you for waiting till it gets warmer!! Chuck you are pretty resouceful! My tractor didn't come with the snap coupler stuff on it other than just the arms. I had been looking for a snap coupler plow and some other snap coupler stuff for 3 months or so and I had not seen any for sale near me...so I bought a 3pt conversion for it. Greg last year I didn't have a heat houser..and it was cold. When I went to buy the blade they had a heat houser they had used on a D-17. I bought it for a decent price. We adapted it to fit the WD. It is about 2in too high and it catch on the top of my garage door but I can get it in...thank the Lord. Greg is your WD a tricycle or a wide front end?

Allis Freak, to answer your question our weather has been wonderful. We only have about 3 inches of snow on the ground and didn't get any new snow out of this last storm. Temp yesterday morning was -16F and -10F today. I'm sure we'll get our fair share of white stuff over the next 4 months. Just feel fortunate that I haven't had to blow any snow yet this season.

P.S. Allis Freak, May I ask your location?
