Why a muffler on the 200?

   Does anyone find that the muffler on a 200 made a difference? Granted it was A&I, but after years with a straight pipe, I put a muffler on the 200, and never found it made any difference at all. That tractor was loud no matter how you sliced it. The only thing that made it louder was if the door was open 3"-12". Then it was unbearable. Shut and all the way open were the same.

	when it was a couple years old I installed a 200 muffler on our 190xt and the difference was negligible. Here is the XT when it was about 5 years old after I added the 220 muff, the ole A when it was 40 years old, and me when I was about 19 years old. Dont know where the xt is today but the ole A looks much better today than then, cant say the same for me, LOL

	my 200 had a muffler but if you hook a tree limb you had a bent hood so we went with a chrome stack that was at least the same height of the muffler the sound was not as bad

	Butch, that is pretty much EXACTLY what we replaced 4 years ago on our XT. Dad bought this tractor used from a dealer that had sold the unit new to farmer that tore out the rear end and brought it back to dealer to repair. When the total cost of the rebuild was told to original owner after repairs were done,the owner told dealer to "KEEP IT!!". Dad got t5he tractor for what dealer had in it for those repairs. If these turboed XT's did NOT come from factory with a muffler, who put them on ?? Thanks

	Anyone can install a muffler
