I have been driving past a A-C plow for 15+ years and I finally remembered to stop and ask if he would sell it. He said he would and he promised to stop me when I offered to much money. I offered 300 he countered 400. We'll have to figure it out from there.
It strikes me though as being a rarer plow as it is a 3 bottom monobeam with a snap coupler hitch. How long do I wait to see if there is other A-C stuff in the sheds? Also ,is that a fair price and is it that rare? Thanks

bring a big trailer when you pick it up and somehow turn a friendly conversation to "what else do you have?"  but in a way that the seller feels it was his idea to show you the other stuff that you happen to have room for today.  Also keep it in the realm of looking at things for looking's sake, not buying.  Depending on your skills, you might clean him out ;)
If you aren't so skilled with smooth talking, just be polite and friendly and try to make a friendship (or business relationship) in steps.  It may take a while to get to the point of asking for more stuff, but if the potential seller sees you are trustworthy and make him comfortable in whatever ways he needs to be, you might gain some goods and maybe a bonus friend for life.  Be sincere with either approach--fake attitude can be easily spotted and might cancel the initial deal!  Be careful and watch body language and other non verbal cues so you don't offend or have your friendly attempts misinterpreted... and remember some sellers aren't looking for a friend, just stick to business.

sounds a little like dating/meeting the parents :)

If it is indeed a monoframe plow with a snap coupler hitch, that has to be rare.  Pictures please.

Don't ask if it is for sale if you are not willing to make an offer or at least pass on the information to someone who might buy.
