   Hi all, 

I recently got a C with a bunch of "spare parts."

Most I can ID, but this one has me scratching my head.  I'm going to guess some part of a mid mount cultivator?  What is it?

And this I know is an adjustment handle for something, but what? Cultivator again?  This should go on the square tube you rest your feet on right?

If it helps, most of the spare parts are from a B

	The bottom two photos are of the depth adjusting lever for a B plow.

	The first picture is of the piece that mounts to the front of the engine that the cultivators for a C mount to.

	Chuck, I have one of the square bars with the mounting tabs like yours next to the tape measure in the first pic. It came with a C I bought with a CA wide front on it. It would bolt to the bosses that stick through the grill shell on a CA. I assume it's a cultivator tool bar for a CA.

	Nope, it's not for a CA. As Chuck Luedtke said, it is the mount for the front cultivator gangs on a C tractor. It mounts to the back of the front pedestal on either side of the engine using the same holes that the front of the engine weights use. Then the front cultivator gangs are hefted into position and bolted to the bar at the front and the bell housing at the back.

	The square bar with the 2 tabs is to mount a cultivator on a C. It mounts under the front of the engine. Tabs facing up with 1 on each side of the engine amd mounts to the pedestal. Just a coincidence that it also lines up with the front posts on a CA. Bob

	Is it possible that it mounts the bean bar to the front of a B? Now I gotta go get my 60 cultivator DPM to see if it had a B application. Either way, I'm gonna learn something tonight.

	Glenn: It's a 317100 "Support Assy." , and according to my "Cultivators" parts manual dated November 1954 and a 1969 Master Index it is only used on the 80 series cultivators for C tractors. That would be typical AC though if it had been used for a special purpose on the B cultivators... You had me going for a bit!

	Oh, ok, so its not for a CA, and its for the C's after all. Does this mean I can't get a CA then? LOL! I briefly looked in my "setting up directions and repair parts list for allis chalmers model 80 series "c" culivatoirs" manual (wheww, what a mouth full) last night and didn't see this part. But I didn't know what I was looking for either, so.... But yep, there it is in the pic on the front cover. I don't see the number in there, but I'll take your word for it Brett. PS: What's a Bean bar Glenn? Thanks again for helping ID this part guys!

	Yeah, what Brett said! I've helped put 80 series cults. on one too many times. Those things are where blood-blisters originated from!LOL! Far as I know, they only go on a C. The depth adjusters only go on a B. (I think). Dream.

	There is a vine cutter attachment for the front of a 60 cultivator, a photo can be seen in CH Wendel's "The Allis Chalmers Story" page 100. After examining the photo in the book more carefully, there is no possibility that the part shown would be used in that application. I would like to find one of those toolbars though. It would be a neat addition to my cultivator collection.
