Same thing @Bagnell Dam @ Lake of the Ozarks. Saw the Allis turbines when I was a little kid. 1962 or so.
sometimes I walk out to my shop and look around and think "Who's the idiot that owns this place?"

I was in the NY city power plant a few years ago and the operator was telling us that when other generators go down for what ever reason they have to bring BIG ALLIS on line and that it will power one third of the city. They use it as a back up because of its age but have no plans of replacing it because it still works when they need it the most.
