Was told about a 4 bottom SC plow, made for the D-19 that might be for sale locally.
Been looking for one around here for the past few years.
This one is said to have been kept inside since new, except the last 3 years the owner pulled it outside. Sounds like he pulled it new with his D-19 gas, so I am guessin it has a hydraulic tailwheel. Have no idea what the model number would be.
Anyone know what its worth? Sounds like its in great working shape.
Is it worth $400 bucks?

Condition of the bottoms is everything. If it is greased, or just surface rusty with no pits, $400-$500, and down from there depending on condition. Look at landslides and shares too.

Thanks Ted!
You use your 45 diesel with the 4 bottom last fall or this spring? How'd she do?

Around here $100/bottom is the "rule of thumb" for old plows.

,Used to to be $50 per bottom-mostly 50/60 series, 70, 9000 and 2000 plows are around $100 per bottom depending on whos at the sale. Lately ya gotta fight the iron man off. I passed on a couple on 50 series plows in June, they were missing the snap coupler eye and a couple of other parts, they went over $100, they went to China, sorry.

With the plow new with a D-19 it will likely be a 74 or if it has trip bottoms it will be an 84. A 2 furrow pin hitch CA plow with ACE bottoms, skimmers and cover boards in nice condition sold for $400 last week.

Skip - even if iron is 200/ton I don't see how a even a 3 bottom 50 series plow gets bought by the scrap man for over $100 and he makes a profit for the effort...didn't think they weighed over 1000 lbs.... Mike |

Just looked at this plow, it is a model 84 with trip bottoms.
New points included, 2 of the coulters had been replaced with an off brand, needs a little work.
Looks like its in average condition, some surface rust, but can still read the "allis chalmers" decal really easy.
Owner wants $550. Still worth it?

You wont find one like that very often.Better jump.I gave 400 for my SC steering tail wheel 4bttm in early 80's. Unless the bottoms or shins are wore through the hard surface that is not excessive.

Is it fully mounted or semi-mount ? If semi is it the steerable version ? I would offer him $400 cash and go from there.

Its a SC mount, just the eye and two lift arms.
No steerable tailwheel, just a landside depth adjustment wheel.
Main frame of the plow, is like 6" hollow square tubing.
