I have a 10 foot Otter dozer blade on a 766 IH. I thought I could make new mounts for it to fit my 7010 but I think it might be easier to just find a different blade. What do you guy's have mounted on your 7000's?

If you need a dozer, buy a dozer. Don't abuse your tractor trying to use it as a dozer .   MACK

I don't use the blade like a real dozer, use it mostly to clean a path in the snow to feed cow's on dry ground, and clear my road off in the winter. Only real abuse the tractor gets is having to leave the heated shop when it's cold out.

An Otter dozer blade is just a lighter made dozer than say a John Deere or Dagleman. They are really popular here in the sandhills of Nebraska because we have such a high water table, light enough that your front tires won't sink in the ground.

On  our 7 & and 8000 series tractors, we had Leon, Degelman, and Gnuse. It is tough to beat the Degelman or the Gnuse dozers. I didn't care for the Leon, as the blade didn't lift very high, and it was easy to get hung up. The nice thing about the Leon, is that since it mounts to the front axle, and the drawbar, all you had to do was swap drawbars, to move it to another tractor. Having said that, I still wouldn't buy another one. If mounting to a 4WD, then the Degleman, is the only choice.

Contact Otter's Inc in Clayton, KS. They may have mounts for your 7000 on hand and if not can make them. Had them modify one of their blades with John Deere mounts to fit my tractor several years ago. Very reasonable prices and they were great to work with!
