What paint is correct for a 7000 series tractor? Wanted to do the hood panels and I will be welding some new steel on the cab to fix the rust. Have some A-C orange tsc solignum brand paint but it's probably not worthy for the sheet metal, more for implements.

What is the paint the agco dealer sells? any good? I have used their Mf red with good results.  Also I saw a place that sells 5 star urethane paint single stage. I'm not very experienced with painting and different options, only sprayed rustoleum and the mf red but no auto paint.

Going to sand the panels down and get all the rust off, then prime and paint, not looking for show quality but I will be taking the time to prep it properly, hate seeing when people paint over everything just makes it look worse.

Got my operators manual for my 7040s nice to have both the service and operators now. And found out the previous owner on the one 7040 got rid of the pd trans filter, so that oil is not being filtered.

Thanks

A 7040 would be Persian Orange #2. A 7045 would be Corporate Orange. Very stupid idea to remove the transmission filter.

ok thank you. Yes it is a very very stupid Idea, Don't know why they did that, But I will be adding the filter assembly back on like it is supposed to. They did lots of things on it, different shut off cable that works backwards from the way a normal 7040 should work. and throttle cable is different.
