Good to see it moving under its own power!
Mike, I just might take you up on that. I’ll keep that in mind as we get in to warm weather |

I was just thinking of you yesterday. Needed a weight and spotted my small anvil on the bench. That reminded me of your plowing exploits. Serviced the air cleaners on both 45's yesterday. Put the carryall on the wide front for a tractor ride Saturday. Got the 185 and planter out and did a test pass, all systems go just need dry conditions.... Got the 6080 out to remove the loader on D-17-1. Got that done without killing myself. Left the mount brackets on for now. That tractor will be sold at some point in the future, not sure weather to sell with the loader on or separate them?

On the 170, replaced the cross over shaft assembly for the traction boost control. The original was siezed and broke the shaft end off where it connects to the 3pt. Got it from L&L
The 7040 got a pair of LEDs to replace the orhi/lo beams. Looking forward to see how they work in the dark Got the 190XT running again after a tip from a forum member. Can go in to more detail on my other thread |

Planted 13 acres of oats. Actually 12.67 acres. Ran one bag short. First time using the mounted all crop grain drill. Learned a bunch. Thought i had it ready to go. I was wrong. Hooked up the support chains. It never occurred to be that the previous owner maybe had smaller rear tires. I hooked up the chains, lowered the drill and was a couple inches short of the ground. Fertilizer rate is more of a very broad range. New winter project part two

Nice pictures guys. I used the 9735 agco-allis and 8702 white planter to put in the corn plots. 25 different varieties each plot about 2200 by 30 feet. had my daughter and wife helping, started about 1 and just got done about an hour ago. Now just planting out the leftover mixed seed. If I don't run out of steam I should get this field in by 2. Supposed to start raining at 8 so I want it done.

Today I hooked the offset to the 7000, and my brother started disking some small patches that are going to be planted to teff. I started pulling the water pump off the recently purchased 190XT series one. Not today but sometime this week the mower was put on the 190XT series three.

7045 and DA385 got the beans in
190XT and 3pt spring tooth harrow worked the sweet corn patch. 170 and green 4 row planter got the first batch of sweet corn planted Funny thing about that open station 190XT, it feels really high off the ground compared to the cab tractors Edited by plummerscarin - 11 May 2025 at 4:31pm |

I removed the PTO stub shaft seal retainer, stub shaft and bearings today to fix a leak on my WD45. It may require a sleeve to fix it proper, shaft is pretty rusty. 2 new seals coming to my mailbix, hope to have this fixed and the 4 basket tedder pinned to it by Friday to test the hydraulics and see if she will fold and unfold it for me. I had a good Mother's Day for a Father....

Neighbor gave me a Massey Ferguson dirt scoop. Fitted it to the 175 and played with it improving the lane. Ended my quest for a D series when I found a '57 Series 1 D17 last week. It's in pretty nice shape, good oil pressure, power steering, front end good, tin is good, has not had a loader on it, runs like a top. First tractor I've had that has snap couple and working traction booster with gauge. That "500 lb" snap coupler to 3 point adapter came with it. Needs tires and wheel but have that covered. I'm now the third owner; Story is the first guy bought it new, used it for a small farm, he died, the son sold it to the second guy.
He bought it to plow driveway, got it home and found he had more tractor than distance. He put new plugs, manifold gaskets, fan belt in it. I'm going to hook it to a couple windfall aspen this morning and see how it behaves under a little load. ![]()

The teff is a new thing for us, the plan is to make hay with it. My brother runs the farm, I help when I can. We produce small bale(16x18) grass hay and alfalfa, he has a yard he rents on the other side of the state where he does direct sales every Saturday. Right now teff seems to have a lot more demand than supply, so we picked up some small fields that weren't being farmed and we are going to try something new.

Yesterday we used the FR30 to clean up the grain bag that split open. Scooped up about 12000 bushels of spilled corn. Majority was dumped directly into the super-b trailers using the loader. The first stuff went fast only taking about 15 minutes to load 45 metric tonnes but the cleanup took a lot longer. We first used the old skidsteer to dump into the loader bucket and then dumped that into the trailer. Cleaned the last bit up using the grain vac. First (and last) time using grain bags.

Took the 1940 B to our nearby antique machinery club show this past weekend. I power washed it and had it all spiffed up. Best part was I was able to drive two of my grand daughters around the grounds. Big smiles all around!

Then.... ![]() Grabbed the Woods to try getting a handle on this thistle patch. Hopefully I got to it before the seed pod developed |

Nice work getting out there between the rain! Mowing the trail sounds like a great way to make use of the Allis and give the grandkids some room to roam. That carryall setup with the box on a pallet is a smart idea versatile and practical for all kinds of jobs around the property. Thanks for sharing the video too!

Put the last batch of sweet corn with the 170. Then pulled some scrubby trees out from the base of the windmill with the 190XT.

Got mower, rake and rotobaler greased and ready to go. Maybe we get a window this week. I guess 30% of the ground around herr hasn't even had primary tillage yet. Rain is crazy this year. Almost no corn has been planted and the corn that has is yellow with crap stands
