Used the D17 to pull the F40 forklift to a new spot in the shop. Was afraid it might sink in!

Walked by it and patted it on the hood as I went into the garage to get a beer. At least it is under the lean to.

sometimes I walk out to my shop and look around and think "Who's the idiot that owns this place?"

Finished installing electronic ignition on the wide front 45. 6080 hauled the air compressor and a wheel/tire that went on the new to me 826. Wearing a loader makes sure a tractor gets used all the time!

I put the trickle charger on the batteries for 48 hours getting ready to spread lime and fertilizer next week. Might toss a bag of alfafa seed in the fert mixer and spread that too.

Pretty good Allis day here yesterday. Pulled the hood off the 185 to straighten out the storm damage from last August. That went better than expected, she's all back together, new muffler from Alex ETA. Monday. Used the 720 to push gravel out of the grass back where it belongs! 6080 doing loader duty as usual, this time moving a BIG silver maple to the burn pile. Pulled four broken off posts from the old white barn, good to have that done! had to be done before grading for the new building can commence. And the biggie, got the NFE WD 45 out, changed the cylinder on the 14' No. 37 IH disc and went to the cornstalks. Did about four acres before dark and wetness forced me to quit. I mention this because last fall we had a discussion about disc size for a 45. I think. It may have been broader than that, don't remember. I wanted to do this then but got weathered out. The 45 pulled it great, all the way in the ground, 3rd gear. Hills made her work but never had to downshift. |

Changed the valve cores in the rear tires. Only tractor on the farm with fluid. I have changed the cores before, it was definitely time. Got to put a 'spare' tire on the left front. Second time in six months that one has went flat. Always after pushing brush in the creek.

Had a good Allis weekend here. Saturday, used the 185 and 1200 field cultivator as well as the NF 45 and IH disc to work up a waterway my uncle and I are rebuilding. Also had the 1066 and (new-to-me) 490 in this story. Worked the crap out of that waterway, it formed up real nice. Sunday, got the all-crop drill mounted on WD 'Micha' and seeded the waterways. Really like getting that old girl out. Did a little more field cultivating with the 185, and popped the cherry on the mowing season with the CA.

Decided that I needed a porch added across the front of the house. Have the 175 doing some of the hard work pulling shrubs.

Hooked the 7045 to a spring tooth harrow that's not been used in some time to work up some dirt for sweet corn. Then got the 170 to plant it.

Finished plowing 20 acres of an old hay field with the wd 45 and the two bottom disk plow. Entire field first gear, not because of a lack of power but I just couldn't control the steering wheel in a faster gear. That plow buried standing orchard grass like it was nothing. But I am not looking forward to disking it. No idea how my grandfather did it.

Put away the harrow and hooked on the sprayer and did beans. I've had this tractor 7 years now and today the fuel gauge is actually showing a reading. Wrong, but a reading none the less. What's up with that?

Due to a continuing knee problem, I can't walk worth a hoot... But I can dig with a hydraulic shovel! I need a drain, from a catch-basin at the driveway apex, down to a retention pond down the hill a bit: |
