Did anything really change from 53 to Jan. 58 while the WD45 was in production aside from the few '58 models having D17 and WD parts?

I've never heard of any WD45's having D17 parts. Never heard of any major changes in the WD45 line either, but I haven't scoured the parts book looking for serial number breaks.

The only change I'm aware of is the front axle to bolster mount for wide fronts going from a 3 bolt on early tractors to the 4 bolt seen on later versions.

After Ser. #WD146607 when the WD-45 was introduced, a few changes were made that I am aware of. Maybe there were others? #WD151381 Snap-Coupler became standar equipment. #WD165056 The number of discs in the hand clutch was increased from 2 to 3 #WD181341 The WD-45D (Diesel) was introduced #WD186413 WFE Support plate changed from 3 to 4 bolts. |

Most of the changes were pretty minor. I have a late 57 that has a few knobs and levers that I haven't seen on other Wd45s.

Other than the four I mentioned, the rest, maybe, are probably "pretty minor". LOL

The stop was a part of the rock trip for the snap coupler. There was a trip lever attached to the pins in the SC bell with a fork that went around the hand clutch lever. Hit something solid (rock when plowing) and the fork tapped the hand clucth into neutral. The stop was there to keep the hand clutch lever from going too far. Not sure if they show it in the plow parts or where. Never looked for it in the tractor parts, or is it all together aftermarket?
