 Topic: WD45 with 16.9X28 tires

. I have a friend who says he bought a new WD45 Diesel that came with 16.9X28 tires on the rear. Generally, I have questioned his memory on that point but he is sure it had those size of tires. In all likelihood, if it happened, I'm guessing it was a dealer retrofit. Anyway, I just bought a late 1957 WD 45 with 16.9 tires and it sure looks like a bigger tractor. Does anyway know if the factory did put that size tire on the 45s?

I think my Dad bought a newWD45 in like 1956 and it had 13.6x28 but not sure

13.6 x 28's were the standard equipment tire and 14.9 x 28's were OPTIONAL on a WD45 tractor, not a WD.

Per the Parts Catalog - WD-45 Gas and Diesel came with 13" X 28" Rims.
A 13" rim equates to a 14.9" Tire by todays sizing.

Both of my WD 45's have 16.9x28's, like them that way! Those Field and Roads amaze me how they pull in loose dirt!

Thinking about putting 18.4R28 on the diesel.
